Storm Center Update - Thursday PM
January 26, 2012, 3:00 PM
by Scot Mundt
Clouds will increase ahead of the next system that will allow for snow showers mainly in eastern KELOLAND. The snow will start later tonight and into Friday morning with amounts ranging from a trace to two inches. Though the amounts will be light, it doesn’t take much snow to give drivers a slick commute. Allow for extra time Friday morning. Temperatures in the morning will be in the teens and twenties with highs rebounding to near thirty in eastern KELOLAND to the middle thirties in the central and west.
The weekend will be dry but cold. Highs will only be in the teens for some in northeast KELOLAND to near twenty in Sioux Falls on Saturday while Pierre and Rapid City will get to thirty degrees. Sunday will be a little warmer with highs in the middle twenties in eastern KELOLAND to the low thirties in central South Dakota and the middle forties in the west. That warming trend will continue into early next week.
