Storm Center Update - Thursday PM
January 12, 2012, 2:53 PM
Winds and light snow showers will slowly come to an end this evening and tonight. Lows will once again fall to the single digits above and below zero in eastern KELOLAND and the teens in central and western South Dakota. The clouds will continue to depart tonight and Friday to allow for sunshine and warmer temperatures. Highs on Friday will sneak back to the twenties in eastern KELOLAND (which is about average) to the thirties in central South Dakota and the forties in the west.
Saturday may give us a hiccup in the warmth due to a clipper moving in from the northwest. The clipper will keep the cooler air in place for eastern KELOLAND with a chance at light snow and flurries. Central and western South Dakota will be slightly warmer on Saturday with dry skies. Sunday will be the warmest day of the weekend with temperatures warming to near forty in eastern South Dakota. Central KELOLAND will be in the middle forties to near fifty for western South Dakota.
Cooler air will move in starting next week with highs returning closer to average or just above.
