Storm Center Update - Sunday PM

August 24, 2014, 3:58 PM by Jay Trobec

Heavy rain affected portions of the area last night and early this morning. Officially, Sioux Falls airport received .86”, but other reports came in much heavier. Brown County (Aberdeen area) and counties to the west of it are under an aerial flood warning due to runoff from 2-5” of rains in recent days.

It should be a quiet night tonight, with clear skies and pleasant lows in the 50s. Tomorrow looks partly to mostly sunny across the region, with below-normal highs in the low 70s.

Tomorrow night through Thursday we will carry a threat of rain, and heavy rain at that. The most likely places to find the heavy rain will be along and south of I-90. Temps will also be on the cool side, in the low 70s.

Warmth and drier conditions look to return for Friday and the weekend, creeping back into the low 80s.
