Storm Center Update - Sunday PM

February 23, 2014, 3:23 PM by Grant Smith

Clouds will continue to build overnight ahead of the snow. The snow will start in western KELOLAND late Sunday and move east throughout the overnight hours making it to eastern South Dakota by Monday afternoon and looks to be gone by early Tuesday morning. As of now, snowfall amounts look to be heaviest in the southern corners of the state, up to three to five inches with locally heavier amounts in the Black Hills; northern part of South Dakota is looking at amounts around one inch.

Once the snow is gone, surface high pressure will set up which will give us clear skies for a couple of days and even a warm up on Wednesday, but when the high pressure moves on, temperatures will drop again back into the single digits and teens for the end of the week.
