There’s still a chance for a white Christmas in western South Dakota and the cold temperatures will remain through the week.
Tonight will be cloudy with light snow in north central and northeast KELOLAND. Snow amounts will stay light with accumulations less than an inch. Lows will fall to the single digits above and below zero by sunrise.
Monday will be cloudy and cold with light snow developing in western South Dakota. Highs will only reach the single digits to near ten degrees for all of KELOLAND. The light snow will continue in western South Dakota Monday night and into Tuesday. Accumulations will generally be around an inch or two with slightly higher amounts in the Hills.
Christmas Day will start cold with lows in the single digits and teens below zero. The afternoon will remain cold with many locations staying in the single digits. Winds will be light.
Cold air will remain through next weekend with highs mainly in the teens and twenties.
