Storm Center Update - Sunday PM

November 11, 2012, 5:48 PM by Ben Cathey

This week we’re entering a calmer period.  Temperatures will slowly warm and we’ll have lots of sunshine.  A few clouds will linger overnight but the mercury will drop quickly after sunset.  By tomorrow morning many of us will be in the single digits.  The winds will slowly fade tonight but will still be breezy.  That will keep the wind chill close to zero!  A few flurries are possible in far northeastern South Dakota.
Even with sunshine, don’t expect much warmth tomorrow.  We’ll still be way below average, especially in areas with snow still on the ground.  Flurries could linger through late morning in the northeast but don’t expect much accumulation.  Mostly sunny skies stay in the east Tuesday with full sun in the west.  The mild pattern lends itself to blue skies but not much heating.  More clouds move back in late in the workweek ahead of a very weak cool-down next Sunday.  Earlier a minor system looked to move in by next weekend but right now the long-range guidance is looking mainly dry.  Another system could be arriving by next Wednesday, which is about ten days ago.
