Storm Center Update - Sunday AM

December 30, 2012, 8:33 AM by Ben Cathey

More cold air is starting to spill into our area and we’ll see changing wind directions throughout the day.  We’ll get a decent amount of sunshine before more clouds arrive from the NW later in the day.  Highs today look to be just slightly warmer than yesterday East River.

Tonight we could see a few flurries.  The cloud layers will be in place and we’ll certainly be cold enough, but there is little moisture to create much snow.  Watch for another cold night, but this time temperatures will not fall quite as fast.

Changes are on the way tomorrow.  We’ll spend most of the day in the single digits!  Highs will briefly get just a bit warmer and the winds will be a little weaker.

As the clock gets ready to strike midnight into 2013, the cold temperatures all week will move into KELOLAND.  Many could be below zero by early in the morning, so if your plans take you outside, you’ll want to dress accordingly.

The largest widespread weather story of the week is the Clipper on Wednesday into Thursday.  Right now the system still looks starved for moisture but just a little bit more is making its way here.  Some could see light snow, especially in the northern half of KELOLAND.

We should see some sunshine by late in the week!
