Storm Center Update - Sunday AM

November 4, 2012, 8:18 AM by Ben Cathey

A quickly-moving system will bring light rain and some light snow to KELOLAND today through the overnight.  Thus far, most of this has been very light and just west of the Missouri River.  There is also some light fog in eastern areas, with calm winds.
In the west today, we’ll actually have some warmth along with winds gusting to 30+ mph.  As the system moves to the SE today, most of the onset will be rain.  In the NE, this should turn over to light snow.  Since there is not much moisture most of the snow and rain will be light.  Overall, most will get less than a quarter inch of moisture.  The best accumulation potential for snow will be in the far NE, east of Aberdeen.  By this evening, the disturbance will be in NW Iowa.  Showers will trail but by sunrise Monday, most of this will be gone from KELOLAND.
Clouds will stick around for many tomorrow but by late in the day we will get some clearing.
Election Day still looks good if you have to wait outside.  There will be lots of sunshine and warming temperatures.  The breeze picks up out of the south on Thursday ahead of a pattern change to our west.  That pattern will carry in the next large-scale system for next weekend.  Though computer guidance is still disagreeing, the best chance for more moisture is in the west next weekend.  We’ll continue to bring you the latest information here from the Storm Center.
