Storm Center Update - Sunday AM
July 11, 2010, 6:15 AM
by Tony Barlow
Stormy conditions yesterday will make way for a calmer and cooler Sunday. Temperatures today will be a good 15 to 20 degrees cooler with a cold front passing through the area today. We will need to watch that front as it will interact with some pretty unstable air across portions of NW Iowa and SW MN. Storms will be most likely in these areas and a few may be strong. The greatest threat for strong storms though resides into portions of central Iowa. Across the rest of the area we will see a slight chance of isolated thundershowers. This activity will stay pretty isolated and we aren’t expecting any severe storms.
For the work week our pattern will stay fairly active with slight chances of storms on Monday and a better chance coming late Tuesday and Wednesday with another cold front passing through. The end of the week does look a bit quieter.
