Clouds will continue to increase through the evening and overnight. Along with the clouds, snow will spread in from the south. While moisture is limited, it doesn’t take much to get a couple inches of snow with as cold as it is.
Widespread one to three inches will be possible through Sunday evening with areas in southeast South Dakota and northwest Iowa receiving a little bit more. Lows tonight will fall to the single digits below zero early tonight, and then slowly “warm” by sunrise. Sunday’s highs will be in the lower teens. Winds will be light for Sunday.
The snow will be done Sunday night, but the winds will increase Monday and Tuesday. The stronger winds will easily pick up the light snow and blow it across roadways causing travel problems on Monday. Use caution when travelling Monday and Tuesday.
Temperatures next week will start in the single digits on Monday, then warm to the twenties by the end of the week.
