Storm Center Update - Saturday PM

Clouds stuck around northern KELOLAND for most of your Saturday and they aren’t moving out for awhile. We had a very small system pushing through the far NE this afternoon but most remained dry.  Still, this serves as a preview for what’s coming tomorrow.  A bigger storm system arrives next weekend and that will something worth watching. 
This evening, a thick cloud deck will stick around but we will still be on the cool side.  Some in northern South Dakota will be down into the 20s. 
Expect mostly cloudy skies for much of our area tomorrow.  By mid-day some light showers should start forming along the Missouri River Valley.  This will push to the east late in the day.  Sioux Falls is looking at some light evening/overnight rain while Aberdeen could see some light snow mix into the rain.  As for accumulation, the best chance is on elevated areas in far eastern South Dakota.  This will clear out early in the day Monday.  Then we get some more sunshine for Tuesday (Election Day).  That brings us more warmth but also cooler overnight lows.  The sun should last through Thursday but many days will be noticeably breezy. 
A system developing off the Pacific coast will impact us next weekend.  This big low pressure center will bring colder air and also another chance at getting some moisture.  Next Saturday the chance is best in the far west. With cold north winds on the back side of the system, the NW Black Hills could be looking at more snow.  We’ll continue to bring you the latest this week.
