Storm Center Update - Saturday PM

September 29, 2012, 6:49 PM by Ben Cathey

Apart from very scarce showers high in the Hills this afternoon, it's been another dry and warm fall day.  We don't expect too much more action tonight and tomorrow should be much the same for most.

The first of two cold fronts arrives tomorrow.  While we won't actually cool down until Monday, the northwest winds will become breezier West River.  Very stray showers could form along the cloud line but rain doesn't appear likely at all.

Monday will be cooler and partly cloudy.  Many will not make it out of the middle 70s for highs.  Tuesday looks very sunny and warmer ahead of the next plunge of Arctic air.  Some areas will be close to 90 degrees but that's the last summer-like heat we will have for some time.

That's because much cooler air comes from the north starting Wednesday.  This cold air will bring a slight chance of rain Wednesday night into Thursday.  For now the best chance of rain is in the east but we could add a chance West River later in the week.  The most reliable model still doesn't bite on rain in the west, though.

Another big story next week is the threat of a hard freeze Thursday morning and Friday morning throughout much of KELOLAND.  Highs these days will only be in the 50s in some cases!
