Storm Center Update - Saturday AM

December 29, 2012, 7:41 AM by Ben Cathey

We’ll have a mostly cold and dry forecast for the next few days.  Today is starting off on the cold side in eastern KELOLAND, with isolated fog and flurries.  Low clouds should eventually clear to the east but it will likely take a while.  Winds will become breezy West River this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon, but not enough to impact travel.

Tonight, most will be in the single digits.  With skies clearing, we will drop quickly after sunset.  Tomorrow should be similar to today.  High temperatures will not change much and sunshine looks plentiful.

We stay in a holding pattern for much of the extended forecast.  Most active weather systems stay just north or well south of our region.  Expect temperatures to warm just slightly on New Years Day after a cool-down on Monday.

Our best widespread chance for moisture this week will arrive on Wednesday.  This will come in from Montana and North Dakota but the reliable computer models still disagree on when and where the storm will go.

More sun and a slight warming trend arrive by next Friday.
