Storm Center Update - Monday PM

August 25, 2014, 2:41 PM by Scot Mundt

Quiet weather can be expected for much of KELOLAND for the rest of the afternoon and evening.  Temperatures will remain comfortable with temperatures in the seventies.  The breezy northwest winds in central and northeast South Dakota will calm down as the sun sets.

There’s a slight chance (20%) for showers and thundershowers in western South Dakota tonight.  Otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy for central and eastern KELOLAND with temperatures falling to the forties and fifties.

Tuesday will feature an increase in cloud cover as the day goes on.  Widely scattered rain will be possible for the southern half of KELOLAND late in the afternoon and evening.  Highs will be in the upper sixties to lower seventies with light winds.

There’s a better chance for widespread rain Tuesday night into Wednesday.  Once again, the best chance will be for southern KELOLAND.  Wednesday will be another cool day with highs in the sixties and low seventies.

Temperatures will slowly warm as the weekend gets closer.  Highs will return to the eighties by Saturday with partly cloudy skies.  While we currently have dry skies in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, we might throw in scattered storms for Sunday ahead of cooler air on Monday.  Monday’s highs will retreat to the seventies with scattered showers possible.
