Strong northwest winds will continue through the afternoon and early evening. The winds are still creating visibility problems in east and northeast KELOLAND. For that reason, Blizzard Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are still in effect until seven o’clock this evening. Winds will die down around sunset and shortly after. Along with the decreasing winds, skies will clear and temperatures will fall. Many locations will wake up to the single digits and teens Tuesday morning.
Tuesday will not be as windy, but temperatures will remain well below average. Highs will only reach the twenties and thirties with isolated low forties in western South Dakota.
Average highs fro the week range from 42° in Aberdeen, 45° in Sioux Falls, 47° in Pierre, to 48° in Rapid City. Temperatures will remain below average through the weekend with the next chance for rain or snow on Friday.
