Storm Center Update - Monday PM
August 2, 2010, 3:25 PM
by Tony Barlow
Another round of heavy rain is looking possible for parts of KELOLAND tonight. At this point we have a few showers across western and central and developing storms across south central South Dakota. All of the activity is slowly heading eastward. Through the evening we will continue to have a slight chance of strong storms but the overwhelming threat continues to be heavy rainfall. We will need to closely watch the storms in south central South Dakota as they will be moving east over areas that are already completely saturated and in many cases still flooded from recent rains. Flash flooding will again be possible in isolated pockets that pick up the heavier rain.
A dryer trend is expected for Tuesday in eastern South Dakota. Scattered storms will still be possible across portions of central and western South Dakota. A few storms will then again be possible through the overnight for the east with scattered storms again possible on Wednesday.
For the end of the week Thursday and Friday are looking mostly dry with warm and humid conditions expected.
