Storm Center Update - Monday PM
July 12, 2010, 2:45 PM
by Tony Barlow
We should have a nice, quiet evening across the area tonight. Into tomorrow temperatures will be warming and our threat of thunderstorms will increase. The greatest threat of strong to severe storms and even storms in general will be across northeast South Dakota. There is a slight chance a few storms may extend farther south depending on how strong the CAP on the atmosphere is during the afternoon hours. A more widespread chance of thunderstorms will come on Wednesday with another cold front passing through. This one will give the greatest chance of strong storms to the southeast.
After the front on Wednesday passes quieter weather is expected for the rest of the week. We will likely see another front over the weekend so stay tuned for storm chances then.
