Storm Center Update - Friday PM

November 16, 2012, 2:52 PM by Ben Cathey

We’re looking for a nice weekend with November warmth and partial sunshine.  There is very little moisture in place but a couple of disturbances will roll through starting this evening.
Clouds and a south breeze will hold on tonight.  That means our overnight lows will be milder, only down to the 30s in most spots.  The warming south breeze will be strongest in eastern KELOLAND tomorrow, with up to 30 mph gusts through the afternoon.  Clouds will move in and out throughout the day, so we’ll call it partly sunny.  Even warmer temps will be around on Sunday, with highs near 60 in the far west.  Late in the day a weak system will move into eastern KELOLAND.  This could bring sprinkles or flurries during the overnight hours into Monday.  This is most likely in the far northeast, but again the atmosphere is mostly dry.
Sunny skies return early in the week.  Highs will remain in the 50s and 60s through Thanksgiving Day.  A cold front moves in late Thursday into early Friday.  Next weekend a new storm will try to move into the Dakotas.  For now, most computer models don’t have high moisture on the way for this next storm.
