We’re still tracking a chance for rain starting this evening. The best chances remain in southeastern KELOLAND BUT there are a couple of issues to talk about. Heavy rain this morning to our south will rob us of the highest rain totals. Also, the air in Nebraska and Iowa is still very dry. We’ve seen a thick layer of clouds moving into southern South Dakota but little else. That will take more of the moisture away, as well.
Isolated showers will start after dark. It looks like some of the initial rain will be in western South Dakota but this doesn’t look like it will bring too much. Western South Dakota was also the site of the warmest temperatures today.
Rain will die down early on tomorrow with the best chance of both rain and severe weather moving farther east into Iowa.
The weekend still seems fairly warm, with many of our highs around 70 degrees. Monday also looks very pleasant, with lots of sunshine and 70s. There is another slim chance of rain late Tuesday and into early Wednesday. That comes along with a stronger push of cold air that will set us back about 10-15 degrees.
