Storm Center Update - Friday PM

August 31, 2012, 2:49 PM by Ben Cathey

Heading into your holiday weekend you can expect lots of blue skies, warm temperatures and more dry weather.  The leftovers of Isaac will stay fairly distant but we could pick up a few clouds tonight.  The noticeable part of Isaac for us will be the breezy east winds.

Tonight should be pretty mild.  Almost all of us will be down to the low-to-mid 60s.  We have a stray chance of a few thunderstorms tonight in the Black Hills, including Rapid City.  What forms looks to be isolated.  Other than that, there's a Blue Moon, the last one until 2015.

Tomorrow will be a few degrees hotter in most areas.  There should be plentiful sunshine but breezy to windy conditions coming out of the southeast.  If your area gets caught up in a lengthy breeze, that could cause your temperature to spike.

There is a slim chance of rain in Aberdeen on Sunday.  The system will track from North Dakota so it's a glancing blow, if anything.  Most others will be sunny and hot.

On Monday (Labor Day) it should be just a couple degrees cooler, although barely enough to feel the difference.

Next Week a cold front passes through Tuesday into Wednesday.  Along that front, we carry isolated chances of rain.  West River, the rains will favor Tuesday evening.  East River, rain chances stay Wednesday.  Eventually, we'll get back into the 70s for highs.
