The cold abruptly ends just in time for your weekend plans! The clearing skies will last through the weekend and we expect to remain dry through Sunday evening. It’s a rare treat after a cool week and it’s nice to bring good news to you!
Tonight, it won’t be as cold as last night. There will only be a couple of locations below zero, and mainly in the snow-covered portion of Iowa. In the southeast, near five above tonight. West of the Missouri River it will be quite a bit warmer tonight. We expect to bottom out only in the middle teens.
Tomorrow, a great Saturday forecast. Mostly Sunny skies throughout KELOLAND to accompany above normal temperatures. We’ll stack up uniformly in the east, near 35 degrees. Again, it’s not summer-y by an means, but it’s still above normal. The west will see the biggest changes, though. Pierre will be near 40 but the further you head west, the better. Highs will be near 50 in Rapid City. It might be a good weekend to do last minute farm chores or holiday shopping!
For Sunday, highs a few degrees warmer than Saturday in the east half of KELOLAND. West River, only slightly cooler. Still, Sunday is shaping up quite nicely.
We’re tracking a marginal chance of freezing drizzle on the extreme periphery of our east Monday morning. Stay tuned this weekend for the latest. Other than that, a dry forecast throughout until at least Wednesday evening.
This far out from Wednesday, computer guidance continues to move it north, but it’s very early in the forecast.
Enjoy the beautiful weekend!
