Minnehaha County authorities are looking for two men believed responsible for stealing cars and going on a hit-and-run spree across Garretson overnight.
"They're thinking because of the severity of the damage that it's some adolescents that this spree, they were on," Mark Rupolii said.
Authorities are looking for two men, both white and believed to be 18 to 20 years old. A picture of the suspects was taken from a sheriff's deputy's patrol camera. The deputy tried to pull them over, but the car sped off. A short time later, it was found wrecked near some train tracks and the men were gone.
The white Cadillac they were in was stolen from Palisades Oil on the west edge of town. There authorities also found an abandoned Chevy Suburban that had been stolen in Sioux Falls.
Law enforcement believes the two men are also responsible for ten reports of hit-and-run damage around town. Residents say the same two suspects rammed through the doors of the local car wash and grain elevator.
The sheriff's department asks for the public’s help in identifying the men. If you recognize them, call the Minnehaha County Sheriff's office at 367-4300.
