Lawyers in the trial of a South Dakota bar owner who's accused of raping three girls after serving them alcohol have wrapped up their closing arguments. Werner Fajardo's fate is now in the hands of a jury.
Prosecutors say the 35-year-old Fajardo assaulted a 12-year-old girl and two 14-year-old girls at his El Cuervo bar in Huron. He pleaded not guilty.
Three witnesses testified Friday before prosecutors finished their case. The defense called two witnesses, Fajardo's brother and a 20-year-old friend of one of the girls. She claimed the girls made up the rape story.
Fajardo's lawyer says there are inconsistencies between the girls' testimony and what they told police.
The judge dismissed a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, saying there wasn't enough evidence.
