The Stanley County School district says it has looked into allegations about the mishandling of the American flag.
A former custodian at the school, Cesar Zakahi, posted a picture of a crumpled up flag on his Facebook page Saturday. He asked people to call and email the Stanley County School District superintendent to tell him that the flag should be properly folded and stored. By Monday, he was out of a job.
The School Board President issued a statement about the allegations on Wednesday. Sarah Carter says an investigation did not find the flag was mishandled. The district is questioning circumstances surrounding the allegations and whether the pictures posted by Zakahi accurately show how the flag was stored.
