The warm weather could attract a large crowd to the upcoming annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Sioux Falls.
The parade will be on Saturday and starts at 2 p.m. As in the past, the parade route is in downtown so some roads will be closed to accommodate the event.
Staging and de-staging for the parade will be on Main Avenue from 5th Street to 2nd Street. That area will be shut down to traffic at 10:30 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m., the 100 block of S Phillips Avenue will be closed for the reading of the Proclamation and Painting of the Shamrock.
The parade route will close around 1:45 p.m. It starts at 5th Street and Main Avenue. Participants will head down Main Avenue to 13th Street. The parade turns onto 13th Street for a block before turning onto Phillips Avenue and going to the north. It ends at Phillips Avenue and 5th Street; the parade is expected to last one-and-a-half hours.
