St. Patrick's Day Parade In Sioux Falls On Saturday

March 15, 2012, 2:21 PM

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The warm weather could attract a large crowd to the upcoming annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Sioux Falls.

The parade will be on Saturday and starts at 2 p.m.  As in the past, the parade route is in downtown so some roads will be closed to accommodate the event.

Staging and de-staging for the parade will be on Main Avenue from 5th Street to 2nd Street.  That area will be shut down to traffic at 10:30 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m., the 100 block of S Phillips Avenue will be closed for the reading of the Proclamation and Painting of the Shamrock.

The parade route will close around 1:45 p.m.  It starts at 5th Street and Main Avenue.  Participants will head down Main Avenue to 13th Street.  The parade turns onto 13th Street for a block before turning onto Phillips Avenue and going to the north.  It ends at Phillips Avenue and 5th Street; the parade is expected to last one-and-a-half hours.

Check out the maps below for more details on which streets will be affected by the parade.  And if you can't make it downtown on Saturday afternoon, you can watch the parade live on KELOLAND.com.
