Spellerberg Pool Closed Thursday

Spellerberg Pool Closed Thursday
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A Sioux Falls pool will not reopen until Friday afternoon as it is disinfected.

Spellerberg pool at is off limits because of a diarrhea incident.  The cleaning process can take up to 25 hours.

It's expected to reopen Friday at 1 p.m.

This is the second pool closure in just more than a week that falls under the city's new policy on how it handles fecal matter.  Terrace Park also closed June 26th for an incident.

Swimmers will now be evacuated from the water for 20 minutes when human waste is found in a pool.  Pool management will double check chlorine levels to determine whether they are at proper levels.  However if diarrhea is found, the pool will shut down for a minimum of 48 hours to keep others from getting sick.
