The South Dakota State Historical Society will show a webcast of a Smithsonian Channel program on the history of California's Silicon Valley.
The historical society says its museum in Pierre will show the free webcast on Sept. 14. It was produced in 2010 for Smithsonian and explores the growth of Silicon Valley in the late 1950s, before people like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates ruled the technology sector.
The historical society says it is the only Smithsonian affiliate in the state. It says it has hosted a "Smithsonian Sunday" program on the second Sunday of each month since last year.
The webcast is at 2 p.m. CDT in the society's Cultural Heritage Center.
