South Dakota SCORE has named a new district director for 2014. Cari Fossum will lead and support local SCORE offices in providing small business mentoring and workshops across the state.
Cari Fossum has been with SCORE since 2004. She started with an Iowa SCORE Chapter as a counselor and moved on to become the Sioux Falls Chapter Chair before being name District Director. Fossum has five years of banking experience.
SCORE CEO Kenneth Yancey says, “Cari has an outstanding business and management background. She is a champion for the role of small business in our economy, especially during the recession.” Yancey adds, “Cari has shown continued dedication to the mission of SCORE and the health of the state business community. South Dakota SCORE volunteer mentors have extensive experience in small business start-ups and in setting a course for business success.”
South Dakota’s SCORE’ includes two chapters that reach over 725 entrepreneurs annually through face-to-face and online mentoring, and a series of business workshops. The district’s 38 volunteers have an average of 35 years of business knowledge, with a wide range of expertise.
