The Boston Marathon website lists 35 runners from South Dakota who were registered to take part in the race.
Mike Rutten, who works at KELO-TV and is from Sioux Falls, finished in 4:05:27.
Ashley Riter Collins from Rapid City crossed the finish line in 4:02:43.
Luke Vander Leest isn't thrilled about his 3:47:11.
He says the heat slowed him down but, the experience of being "Boston Strong" was worth it.
"Because I ran a lot slower than I had planned to. I had a lot more time to take in the crowd and read the signs and kind of feed off the energy from the crowd," Vander Leest said.
Elinor Scott is originally from Sioux Falls. She ran in the marathon last year. The bombs went off just as she was less than a mile from the finish line.
She qualified for the Boston Marathon this year. However, she's battling stage four pancreatic cancer, but she walked the last mile of the course.
Her sister says there are no words to describe seeing her sister accomplish one of her dreams.
You can see how runners did in the race at the Boston Marathon website.
If you go to the search page, you can even search by state. To find the runners from South Dakota taking part, type in 'SD' for the state option.
