South Dakota Reports Second Death From West Nile
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The state of South Dakota is reporting its second death from the West Nile Virus this year.

Officials say the elderly patient died in McPherson County.

Last month, the state reported its first West Nile death of the season.  That patient was between 80-to-89 years-old and living in Hughes County.

So far, the state has had 119 reported cases of West Nile.  South Dakota ranks within the top six states reporting West Nile virus cases in the nation.
