RAPID CITY, SD -
A Rapid City man accused of helping bring marijuana from Denver to South Dakota has been sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison.
Authorities say 26-year-old Jaret Hagar was in a vehicle that was stopped by a Highway Patrol trooper in July 2008 and found to have 30 pounds of marijuana. He pleaded guilty in June to a drug conspiracy charge.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Hagar was sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison. He will be on supervised release for six years following the prison term.
