ABERDEEN, SD -
A South Dakota man who authorities say attacked another man with a meat cleaver has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Nineteen-year-old Konacin Blackelk of Aberdeen initially faced an attempted murder charge. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and also aggravated assault of a law officer.
Authorities say Blackelk used the meat cleaver during a fight on Sept. 2, sending a man to the hospital to be treated for injuries that included a cut on the head. The deputy who was assaulted was not injured.
