The South Dakota High School Playoff pairings have been announced for the 2013 season.
In 11AAA, the first round will be played on Halloween. Number one Sioux Falls Lincoln (8-0) goes up against number eight Rapid City Stevens (2-6). Number two, Sioux Falls Roosevelt (7-1) takes on Sioux Falls Washington (3-5). Brandon Valley (6-2) draws the third seed and will face off against number six Aberdeen Central (3-5). Rounding out the first round is number four Rapid City Central (4-4) and number five Sioux Falls O’Gorman (3-5).
The first round for 11AA will also be played on Halloween. Drawing the number one seed is Pierre (7-1). The Governors take on number eight Brookings (3-5). The Watertown Arrows (5-3) come in at number two and will face the number seven Douglas Patriots (4-4). The Yankton Bucks (4-4) are the third seed and will take on the number six Mitchell Kernels (3-5). The Tigers of Harrisburg (3-5) get the number four seed and will face off against the Tigers of Huron (3-5).
11A gets started a bit sooner with the first round of games to played on Tuesday, October 29. The bracket is split into four regions of four seeds.
In Region One the Madison Bulldogs (8-0) get the one seed and will go up against number four Milbank (1-7). Dell Rapids (6-2) draws the two seed and will face off against number three Sisseton (2-6).
In Region Two, Dakota Valley (5-3) is the number one seed taking on number four Vermillion (1-7). The Tea Area Titans (4-4) get the two seed and will go up against number three Lennox (2-6).
The West Central Trojans (6-2) draw the number one seed in Region Three. They will take on number four Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (2-6). Number two goes to Chamberlain (4-4) and they will face off against number three Todd County (3-5).
Region Four rounds out 11A with number one Hot Springs (7-1) taking on number four Little Wound (2-6). Belle Fourche (4-4) draws the two seed and they will go up against number three Pine Ridge (3-5).
Once the round is over the teams are re-seeded.
In 11B the start date is the same as 11A with the first round being played on Tuesday, October 29, and the bracket split into four regions. In Region One, Aberdeen Roncalli (8-0) grabs the number one seed and will face off against Groten Area (4-4) who comes in at number four. Redfield/Doland (6-2) draws the two spot and will take on number three Mobridge-Pollock (3-5).
Region Two has Canton (7-1) drawing the number one seed, and they will face number four McCook Central/Montrose (4-4). Beresford (5-3) has the two spot taking on number three Tri-Valley (3-5).
Winner (8-0) takes the number one spot in Region Three, going against number four Bon Homme (5-3). Parkston (7-1) grabs the two spot taking on number three Wagner (4-4).
Finally, Region Four sees St. Thomas More (7-1) with the number one seed going against number four Red Cloud (5-3). Custer (6-2) draws the two spot facing number three Bennett County (7-1).
Like 11A, the teams are re-seeded once the first round is finished.
The 9AA bracket opens on Tuesday, October 29, and is divided into four regions, with the teams being re-seeded after the first round.
In Region One, Arlington (7-1) has the number one seed taking on number four Webster Area (5-3). Number two Clark/Willow Lake (7-1) will go against number three Deubrook Area (7-1).
Region Two has Garretson (7-1) as the number one seed taking on number four Menno/Marion (4-4). The number two seed Elkton-Lake Benton (6-2) faces number three Parker (5-3).
Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan (7-1) has the top spot in Region Three, going against number four Deuel (4-4).
Number two Kimball/White Lake (6-2) takes on number three Woonsocket/Wessington Springs (5-3).
Region Four sees top seed Gregory (7-1) take on number four Stanley County (3-5), while number two Hill City (7-1) faces De Smet/Iroquois (3-5) at number three.
The first round of 9A starts on Tuesday, October 29 with the teams re-seeded after the first round.
In Region One, Leola/Frederick (8-0) grabs the top spot taking on number four Viborg-Hurley (4-4). The number two spot goes to Herreid/Selby Area (6-2) as they face number three Tri-State (4-4).
Region Two has number one Howard (8-0) going against number four Hanson (3-5). Alcester-Hudson (7-1) grabs the two spot taking on number three Chester Area (4-4).
Region Three has Potter County (7-1) in the top spot facing number four Corsica/Stickney (4-4). Number two Wolsey-Wessington (8-0) takes on number three Colome (6-2).
Rounding out 9A is Region Four with New Underwood (6-2) in the top spot taking on Newell (4-4) at number four. Philip (4-4) is in the two spot facing number three Lemmon/McIntosh (5-3).
The final bracket is 9B. They begin on Tuesday, October 29 with the teams re-seeded after the first round.
Region One sees Eureka/Bowdle (6-2) in the top spot taking on number four Hitchcock-Tulare (6-2). Faulkton Area (6-2) grabs the two spot facing number three Waverly-South Shore (6-2).
Region Two has Hamlin (8-0) as the top spot taking on number four Castlewood (4-4). Dell Rapids St. Mary (7-1) has the two spot taking on number three Langford Area (5-3).
Avon (8-0) has the top spot in Region Three going against number four Scotland (4-4). At number two is Burke/South Central (6-2) facing number three Canistota (4-4).
Region Four has number one Wall (8-0) facing number four Faith (7-1) and number two Kadoka Area (7-1) taking on number three Harding County (6-2).
