South Dakota Democrats have wrapped up their state convention after nominating candidates for several constitutional offices, adopting their party platform and debating 31 resolutions.
Convention delegates in Yankton have nominated Yankton-native David Allen to run for the seat on the Public Utilities Commission. Allen ran for the state Senate in District 18 in 2012.
Delegates chose Denny Pierson of Sioux Falls to seek the position of state treasurer. And Angela Schultz of Aberdeen was nominated to run for secretary of state.
No candidates were nominated for attorney general, auditor or commissioner of school and public lands.
Among the several resolutions adopted Saturday was one apologizing to President Barack Obama. State Republicans passed a resolution at their convention last week in Rapid City calling for his impeachment.
