The U.S. Air Force says about 350 airmen from Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota are preparing to deploy to Southwest Asia.
Officials say the base also will be sending several B-1 bombers from the 28th Bomb Wing, equipment and supplies to support the military's objectives in the region.
Since 2007, the wing that flies B-1 bombers has had an average of 560 airmen deployed at any one time.
