The potent winter storm from Thursday left behind a wide range of precipitation.
We had it all Thursday morning: heavy snow, freezing rain, sleet and even severe thunderstorm warnings with lots of lightning. We usually look for these types of systems in the month of March, but this is the second one like this we've had recently.
We had some impressive snow totals from around the area. The totals ranged from 14 inches in the north around Pollock to 12 inches in Perkins county and 10 inches in Corson County.
We had ice and sleet accumulations in southern South Dakota; in fact, some areas reported over a half-inch of ice.
We had pictures sent in from all over showing drifts as high as 3 and 4 feet from especially the northeast. We now have a little more snow on the way for Friday.
