Most of Sioux Falls is either covered with a thin layer of snow or a thick layer of ice but over the next several days, that should change.
Snow is expected to develop in southeast KELOLAND late in the day on Thursday and will last into Friday. It will arrive a little sooner in central and western South Dakota.
The snow will help us get closer to the snow prediction for Sioux Falls, but anything that falls in central and northeast KELOLAND gets farther from the prediction, which we've already passed.
Pierre is well over with almost 28 inches of snow and Aberdeen is four inches over my prediction. Sioux Falls is just a foot away, while Rapid City and the Hills are about halfway to our predictions.
Snow and thunderstorms were already going in the central and southern United States this morning. How much moisture will they take away from us in KELOLAND is still to be determined, as forecast models have trimmed back on the precip amounts Wednesday morning.
