Take a look around Sioux Falls and you can find evidence of weekend snow that fell on Saturday. While it only measured to seven-tenths of an inch, extreme northeast KELOLAND dealt with enough wind and snow to lead to travel and visibility problems.
Adding up the latest snow totals shows we've already under-forecast for Pierre. They have nearly 23 inches so far and we predicted just over 21. Aberdeen is getting close. The hub city is two-thirds of the way there with 24 inches. Sioux Falls is halfway to our prediction and Rapid City is getting close to halfway. The Hills are still well behind with 76.5 inches.
Warm weather this week will help melt a lot of the snow and ice in KELOLAND, but we're keeping our eye on a system for the weekend. As of now, southeast KELOLAND has the best chance for winter weather.
