Snow Gate Vote Could Be Scheduled Tuesday

December 18, 2012, 1:05 PM by Peggy Moyer

Snow Gate Vote Could Be Scheduled Tuesday
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

New snowfall is laying the groundwork for one of the issues being discussed at Tuesday night's city council meeting in Sioux Falls.

Council members will discuss the potential use of snow gates in the city.

Earlier this month, organizers turned in a petition to bring the snow gate issue to a public vote.  But the big question on everyone's minds is whether they can decide on a date for the public to vote.

This is the third year the City has tested snow gates.  Previous results have shown the gates are more expensive to operate and that it takes drivers more time to clear residential streets when using them.

The city council meeting begins at 7 p.m. We'll have a full report on what's decided at that meeting tonight on KELOLAND News at 10.
