An overnight snowfall left many rural roads covered in up to eight inches of snow in parts of southern KELOLAND. Travel was tricky along Highway 11 south of Sioux Falls, but plows cleared the way around 5 a.m.
Interstate 29 south of Sioux Falls was also snow packed Friday morning. The driving lane is open, but the passing lane is still snow packed in many places.
Highway 50 running between I-90 and Vermillion was completely snow packed, but plows were quickly getting rid of any excess snow.
Driving speeds were reduced in many areas, especially where there were homes or tree along the side of the road. As the day goes on, conditions are expected to improve.
