You would think South Dakota drivers would be used to winter driving by now. But, all it took was two inches of snow to send driver after driver out of control.
Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens says on Monday, between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., officers responded to 40 crashes. To give you some perspective, on a typical day officers respond to 20 to 30 crashes all day long.
The snow started to fall late Monday morning in the Sioux Falls area and continued through the evening. However, the amount was not enough to issue a snow alert.
Clemens says no one was seriously injured in any of these crashes.
