It doesn't take much snow to get people to slip and slide, making a mess for the morning commute. Sioux Falls officially picked up an inch and a half of new snow Wednesday morning that did just that.
The snow continues to add to the winter prediction. Rapid City is about two-thirds of the way there with just under 40 inches. Sioux Falls is now just over halfway there with nearly 29 inches. It's been a steady climb in Aberdeen and Pierre as both locations are just under half of the prediction. While the Hills got socked in October, the snow hasn't been as impressive with only a third of the prediction.
But we know it doesn't take much for the Hills to receive snow. As the cold air slowly retreats over the next couple of months, that might help steer the storm track to the upper plains and allow for some of us to play catch-up. It will be something worth watching as the weeks go by and we transition into spring.
