Wednesday will be the last of the warm days in KELOLAND for a while. If parts of KELOLAND didn't have snow on the ground, of course the temperatures will be a little warmer.
There's been research on the effect snow has on temperature. While the research has been done on different times of the winter, we'll look at our current time frame of December 17 through the 24th.
With no snow on the ground, Sioux Falls top ten warmest highs are all in the 50s. The coldest highs only have one single-digit temp listed. The others are in the teens and 20s. And the coldest lows only fall to the single digits below zero.
Sioux Falls officially started the day with four inches of snow on the ground. This cuts the warmest highs about 10 degrees, to the 40s and 30s. The coldest highs fall to the single digits to 11 below zero. And the coldest lows fall to the teens and 20s below zero.
Hope you enjoyed the warmer weather as we'll return to those below zero temps later this week.
