Skyforce To Host Military Night

January 14, 2014, 10:35 PM

Skyforce To Host Military Night
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The Sioux Falls Skyforce will host its 10th annual Military Night game on Friday, Jan. 17 against the Delaware 87ers. Free tickets will be available at a designated table in the Sanford Pentagon lobby the night of the game for military personnel and their families.

Skyforce players will be donning camouflage jerseys which can be won via sealed bid auction. Bidding for the jerseys will begin when the doors open at 6 p.m. and close at the end of the third quarter. Winners of the jerseys will be announced throughout the fourth quarter and all of the proceeds from the auction will benefit Operation Cares.

In addition to the auction, the Skyforce will also host an enlistment ceremony at halftime. Over 100 young men and women who have signed up for the Air Force, Army and Marines will take part in a ceremony that will enlist them into one of the aforementioned organizations.

About Operation Cares

In March of 2003, the Sioux Falls Skyforce created a charity to benefit family members of soldiers who were sent overseas for service. Operation Cares was launched with the help of over 20 Sioux Falls businesses. This effort has been very successful as it has raised over $150,000. All proceeds have gone to help military families with everyday needs such as car repairs, groceries, home repairs, etc.

Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs for the 2013-14 season are on sale. Discounts and benefits are available for groups of 10 or more. For more information, please contact a Skyforce representative at (605) 332-0605.
