Sioux Falls S.D. (Apr. 4, 2014) – The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Texas Legends 135-121 Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon. Sioux Falls never trailed after the end of the first quarter and displayed its most potent offense of the season.

Sioux Falls had an offensive night for the ages and set season highs in seven different categories. The Skyforce had their best game of the year in points scored (135), shooting percentage (61.8 percent), points in a quarter (42), points in a half (76), assists (37) and free throws both made (35) and attempted (42). Sioux Falls also was proficient on the fast break, achieving 30 points while on the run.

The win maintained a three-way tie for the Central Division lead following victories from the Iowa Energy and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Iowa defeated Maine 142-122 and Rio Grande Valley beat Idaho 121-110. All three teams play their final game at home Saturday night.

The Sioux Falls (30-19) frontcourt led the way as Craig Smith scored a season-high 33 points and Anthony Mason Jr. pitched in 24. Five other Sioux Falls players scored in double figures including Tre Kelley (19), Larry Drew II (16), DeAndre Liggins (15), Alex Oriakhi (14) and A.J. Davis (10). Drew achieved the only Skyforce double-double with a season-high-tying 14 assists.

Texas (23-26) was led by PJ Hairston’s 26 points and followed closely by Dallas Mavericks assignee Ricky Ledo and Melvin Ely, who scored 24 and 23, respectively. Mickey McConnell finished with a double-double, tallying 15 points and 14 assists.

Both teams return to action Saturday night. Sioux Falls hosts Tulsa at 7 p.m. CT and Texas hosts Idaho at 7 p.m. CT.
