Skyforce Fall To Jam, 120-85

RENO, NEV., Jan. 5, 2014 – The Bakersfield Jam dominated from start to finish on Sunday night at the 2014 NBA D-League Showcase Presented by Samsung Galaxy and knocked off the Sioux Falls Skyforce by a score of 120-85.

Bakersfield turned in a complete effort featuring a well-balanced scoring attack that saw six players score in double figures. As a team, the Jam shot .547 (41-of-75) from the field and outscored the Skyforce 50-28 in the paint.

Ike Diogu notched a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds off the bench. Diogu was selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors and was acquired via the NBA D-League’s available player pool on Dec. 12, 2013

The Jam got off to a fast start and opened up a 57-38 half-time lead. They would stay on the attack scoring 39 points in the third quarter and didn’t back off as they had their largest lead of the game with just over four minutes to play at 115-72.

Rudy Gobert recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds and James Nunnally scored 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range.

Reigning NBA D-League Performer of the Week, DeAndre Liggins led the way for Sioux Falls with 17 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including connecting on 3-of-5 attempts from behind the arc.  Newly acquired Tre Kelley tallied 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting. Kelley was acquired via trade yesterday from the Austin Toros in exchange for Charlie Westbrook.

Bakersfield’s next showcase game will be on Tuesday vs. Iowa Energy at 12:45 P.M. and Sioux Falls will take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders tomorrow at 6:30 P.M.
