Siouxland Libraries, in an effort to encourage kids to read over the summer, would like you to donate your gently used children’s books. As a part of the Reading Bridge Tutoring Program, the books will be handed out to kids in grades kindergarten through fifth who participate. The program helps promote literacy skills between spring and fall.
Books can be brought to any Siouxland Library where donation boxes are set up. Those who wish to donate have until April 15.
The goal is to collect more than 500 books.
Siouxland Libraries is in need picture books, learn-to-read books, chapter books, fiction novels, poetry collections, biographies, classics and nonfiction novels. They are unable to accept textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, CDs, DVDs or videos.
