The Coyotes season might have ended, but another KELOLAND basketball team is just starting their journey to a National Tournament.
The Sioux Wheelers, a wheelchair basketball team consisting of players from age eight all the way to high school, are heading to Louisville, Kentucky to take part in the 16 team junior varsity tournament. This is the second straight year the Wheelers have made it to the highest level, and they are looking to improve on last year's heartbreaking end to the season.
“We had a great time last year. We got to the final game and lost by two points. Disheartening I know but now we got something to shoot for. We're going to go down there and win the thing this year if we can,” Sioux Wheeler Athletic Director Dick Neu said.
The Wheelers are trying to raise money to make the long trip to Louisville.
