A Sioux Falls tech company founder has received a prestigious honor. Eric McDonald, CEO of DocuTAP, an urgent care software company, has been named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Upper Midwest.
McDonald is among nine winners chosen by a panel made up of regional business leaders. The winners were honored at a black-tie gala in Minneapolis Wednesday night.
An overall winner is chosen in November and competes for the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year in Monte Carlo.
McDonald started DocuTAP 14 years ago, working out of his basement. He has grown it into a company of more than 200 employees and is currently moving into the newly renovated CNA Western Surety Building on Phillips Avenue, now called "The Plaza."
