Sioux Falls Police Ask For Help Finding Armed Robbery Suspects

Sioux Falls Police Ask For Help Finding Armed Robbery Suspects

Sioux Falls Police are investigating the city's fifth armed robbery in the last nine days. This one happened just before 6 a.m. Tuesday on the east side of the city.

Police say two white men dressed in dark clothes walked into the Kum & Go near 26th Street and Sycamore Avenue, showed a handgun, and gave the clerk a bag to put cash in. One of the men had a bandana covering his face and the other had a blue sweatshirt covering his face.

After the bag was filled with cash, the men ran out of the store and ran south on Alpine Avenue into a residential neighborhood.

Police are asking anyone who was awake in that neighborhood Tuesday morning to call with tips if they saw anything out of the ordinary.

“Maybe there's some more people that are up. A lot of people walk in the morning or walking dogs or are heading to work, so we're hoping somebody maybe saw these two people, saw which direction they went or a vehicle description. Even if it's a vague description, it's something we can follow up on,” Sioux Falls Police Public Information Officer Sam Clemens said.

If you have any information you're asked to call CrimeStoppers at 605-367-7007. You can also text tips to CrimeStoppers by sending the message to the numbers that spell out CRIMES. Tipsters are also asked to start their text message with TIP635. Find more information on how to contact CrimeStoppers online.
